Research into regional magazines
Front cover of ETC Magazine...
Here is a magazine Front cover of ETC magazine. To begin with, like the intensity the magazine gives off in the color used. Moreover, this allows the cover to stand out and capture the target audience's attention.
Layout
As for the layout of the cover, the composition is thought about well and the photo of Cheryl, has been taken as a close up. In addition, the font on the cover does not create an overcrowded affect, allowing the cover to look spacious. Also, the small use of text on the front cover, means there aren't many clues given to the audience about the features of the magazine. In this case, this idea could be positive, as it means the reader does not get any spoilers referring to the information inside the magazine. Alternatively, this could make readers feel as though the magazine is boring and it may affect them, as they won't want to read it.
Colour Scheme
As for the colour scheme, the 'Pink' theme used, is targeted to a female gender of audience. As well as a young audience, as Cheryl is a role model for youngsters in the North east. This idea links to my target audience because i plan to target my product to this style of audience. The colour scheme, allows texture and contrast to be created, allowing the main image and cover to look of a high quality.
Font
The font used on the front page is inspiring because it has shape and structure to it, enabling the font to relate to the style of magazine ( Fashion). As it has an interesting style to it. I love the quote used under neath the phrase, 'Cheryl Cole'. This is because it uses language that is emotive, like a metaphor, "I feel as hard as the times i've had". This type of language gives an effect on the reader, which is a persuasive technique of engaging the audience into reading the magazine
The Website...
The website uses simple colour tone, banner and font. This shows simplicity and is fascinating as it still engages an audience
Layout
The layout of the website is simple and allows viewers to access areas of the website easily. Such as, using a banner. This means the audience can select the area of etc they are interested in. Also, i like the idea of cell lines being used. this makes the page look organized. For instance, the description of the 'Distribution' and the cell line with the information where you can 'find out more'. The reason for this is to separate the information and prevent overcrowding of text. So that it is easier for the audience to read and recognize.
Language
As for the language used on the web page, it is basic but persuading. For example, the phrase, "In just 4 weeks, we can transform your skin to it's younger self... and there is no need for any down time", engages the audience by using a persuasive technique. The language used in advertisement is also persuasive, such as, " Drive away in a BMW". This sounds better than saying "You could drive away in a BMW". This affects the audience in a positive way, as they will feel shocked that hey could win this.
Images
The images used are mainly of jewellery such as, bracelets and watches, linking to 'fashion', which is a feature of the magazine. As this is the home page, there aren;t many images included. However, the other features listed on the banner, may include more images, as these features go into detail about the topic.
Colour scheme
Finally, the colour scheme of the web page is basic as well because it uses 'Black and white' colour, making the website look traditional. Although, these colors still contrast and create a bold affect.
